Wow. There is something almost Faustian about this — dare one really step into those sulphurous waters. This is wonderful Allyson. The three layer composition, the tree holding it all together on the left — oh but the atmosphere, the black sky, the empty chairs! Yes wonderful.
I was going to start with “wow” but Barbara already did. This looks like a place where something mysterious is about to happen, though I guess it’s steam rising from hot springs? Which would be lots of fun. Anyway, fantastic atmospheric photo.
Where is this bit ‘o paradise Ally? I’m finding myself staring at it – it has a magical-realism feel to it, as if there were people there but they’ve gone, but where? – into the steamy depths perhaps? The repeated whites of the snow, the steam, the Muskoka chair, the ice and frost against the greens and blues create the loveliest contrast. It must have been enchanting to see!
Wow oh Wow! What spectacularly magical winter scene, Allyson.
