OH WOW! Can you go back and snap off the heads for me, Allyson. I’ve been desperately seeking mannequin heads for a gypsum project. AND, what a fantastic capture. Whitewashed city folk (aka mannequins) decorating the side of a very green country road. Good eye!
I’d do that for you, Cheryl, except that I spotted this on a country road on the Escarpment, near Blue Mountain, when we were there for the long weekend. The owner was outside when we stopped, and he told me he’d picked these up — from a store going out of business, I believe — for his daughter, an artist, thinking she might use them. She never did, and eventually moved out, so he didn’t have a use for these lily-white gals. I joked that they were far more interesting discards than most parents deal with after their kids leave home, and he agreed!
How could I NOT stop to snap a pic? 🙂
OH dear – “slaughter on … avenue” was the first phrase that came to mind. Shortly followed by a lot of unsuccessful mental attempts about Venuses and arms. This is a wonderful picture and springboard for so many stories; but I love the true one. Yes great capture indeed!
Hilarious and a little macabre at the same time Ally! Indeed, how could you not take a picture? And, why am I not surprised that you managed to get the background story?
